Tails-A-Wagging Doggie Day Care and Obedience Training
Center, First Doggie Day Care in Bellingham
In Loving Memory...
Boo was always quite the
character...she was a true canine athlete. We have been lucky
enough to of been caring for her for over 8 years, we saw her
grow up from a bossy (yet lovable) young dog to a maternal
queen- who took care of all the young dogs, making sure they
knew how to play well and respect the older dogs. Boo was
feisty, but always had a way about her that was kind, gentle and
true. Boo, you taught us to take a step back, you had it all
under control.
You always had.
Our beloved queen, Jazzie. A part of our heart for many, many
years. Our true alpha in the group, she was in charge of all the
puppies and all the new dogs. She took stock of everything that
was going on, and as a true alpha did not bother with the little
stuff- only when it was necessary for her to get involved, she
handled herself with grace. She will forever be missed as an
special part of our little world. We love you Jazzie, now and
forever.
Our heart aches for our beloved Bart. Anyone who knew this
adorable, loving dog- was moved by his calm nature and gentle
soul. We have been lucky enough to of been caring for him since
he was 9 weeks old. A bundle of fluff when we first met him, he
lost his battle with Histiocytosis on February 2010. He was
silly and goofy, a true Berner. He was game for anything you
asked of him, happy to meet new dogs and try new games. Bart
leaves behind his doggie sisters Daisy and Denver, who loved
their brother, so very much.
Our dearest Maize. Miss Maize
suddenly lost her life and we are all saddened by the loss of
her intense energy and kind heart. She never met a dog she did
not like... Maize was true to her nick name Crazy Maize! such a
silly dog, with an Aussie heart of gold. We miss you sweet
girl, Friday's will never be the same without you.
With a heavy heart we say goodbye to our beloved Lucas. He lost his
battle with bone cancer just after Christmas 2009. We have been
caring for him since he was a wee pup... as he grew- to a VERY large
big boy. Lucas was, without a doubt, the BEST howler we have ever
had. His perfect manners and amazing play style will be missed.
Lucas was a regular on the PetWatch TV Show, as well as the WHS Kids
Reading Program. We love you Lucas and will think of you often.
We have been caring for Hannah for so long, we cannot imagine TAW
without her. She was everyone's favorite, both dogs and people
adored her. She loved to announce her arrival and when we heard her
sweet voice, all we could say was "Oh Hannah" She was a true leader
in the play group, the puppies looked up to her for their maternal
needs. She helped us, as staff, keep order with the crazy players.
Hannah Banana, we love and miss you.
Words cannot express what you meant to us Chloe. You
have been here from the start, week after week, a regular fixture
here at TAW. You taught many, many puppies all they needed to know
to be good dogs. Your tolerance was like no other, so caring and
loving to the other dogs. Everyone will remember how you liked
caring your own leash up front to go home, always working. You will
forever have a space in our hearts. The original Chlo-Dog...
Our dearest Sam... the wise older gentleman of the group. Always
willing to please everyone. Over the past year he preferred naps to
ball and belly rubs to tricks but we did not mind. He was always the
best dog for us. We will miss your silly antics and mischievous
ways. You taught your sister Chloe well, be proud Sam. Always
proud.
Beautiful,
dear Abby lost her battle with brain cancer, January 18th, 2009.
She was a regular here at Tails-A-Wagging for many, many years. Abby
took it upon herself to be a representative for all pit bulls,
trying to spread the word how truly wonderful they are. She loved
taking care of puppies. in fact, Abby was a avid volunteer for
Furbaby Rescue, rearing countless litters of Chihuahua puppies. It
did not matter, that she had never been a mamma herself, she was
going to take care of puppies! She would try to convince us on a
daily basis that she belonged in the small dog group...Toward the
end, Abby spent a lot of time as an office dog at Tails-A-Wagging,
greeting everyone. At day care her best buddies were Charlie, Chaz,
Iris and Ida. She was loved by everyone.
Mr. Happy-go-Lucky Mowgli passed away. He was an older boy who's
time had come. You would never of known he was 14 years old...
he often tried to keep up with the puppies, and did a pretty
good job at it too. Coming to day care made him so happy, he
was always willing to do whatever was asked of him, nothing ever
bothered Mowgi. We will miss you so much. Our heart is empty
without you, but we will fill it with the memories of your
silly smile.
Bridget: Where do we begin.
Bridget was one of those dogs that touched us like no other.
Although she would no longer be in the play group she loved coming
to day care to be with the people. She hung out up front as an
"office dog" she played all day with Jean in her office, mostly.
Breaking away to have a bit of fun with her best friends Lucas and
Leon... the two boys who truly had her heart. She loved her
Wednesday visits to TAW, she and Jean would take long lunch time
walkies. A total goofball- she adored Bianca when she was with us.
So much that all she would do is wait for her to play. They would
wop each other and Bianca tolerated Bridget to put her whole head in
her mouth. Sweet Bridget lost her battle with Canine Inflammatory
Bowel Disease one year to the day of Bianca's passing. We hope they
are together, wrestling and sassing on each other forever. We love
you Bridgie.
Violet: Like no other, this
adorable girl was close to our hearts for a long time...
Originally found as a stray by a TAW client, she was brought to
the Whatcom Humane Society- no one claimed her but they
estimated her to be 20 years old at the time. Good thing no one
claimed her since she was a mess when she was found! COVERED in
fleas and her fur has been shaved off and her skin burned from
the clippers. All of her teeth were abscessed to the outside of
her face- she was in horrible condition. WHS called to tell us
they were going to put her to sleep since they did not have the
recourses to treat her... Well, you know that just would not do!
So TAW and the woman who found her paid for all her medical care
and got her well again. The woman who originally found her
adopted her and she lived another 4 years! Even becoming the
WHS Dog Days of Summer spokes dog! Enjoying TAW two days a
week, we loved joking that towards the end, she was probably
older that most of the TAW staff! Violet lost her life due to
cancer and we will always miss her.
Emi: A sweet older gal of
16 years... who had only been coming to TAW for about 6 months.
Being fostered by a wonderful client for Basset Hound Rescue,
she was living her days in comfort with other Basset Hounds.
Emi really enjoyed day care, spite her age. If the other dogs
got to come and she did not.. look out! At day care she was all
about the snuggle time. She loved wearing sweaters and coats,
she would like to get all dressed up, find the biggest bed and
DEMAND to be tucked in on all sides. There she had the best
view of all the days happenings! We all WOO WOO to you Emi!

Big beautiful Coalby... he
tragically and suddenly lost his life and we miss him so
very much. No one could howl like him... he had the
sweetest "girly" voice and enjoyed running and beginning
howling circles all day long. He had THE best butt
wiggles... he was one of a kind and we are all better dog
guardians for knowing him... his paw prints will forever be
in our hearts. We love you Coalby
Although
Abbie was a senior citizen here at TAW, she insisted on doing her
best to keep up with the group...her sister Margot kept her very
spry! Abbie loved napping in the sun, treat time and her most
favorite belly rubs. Even though the past year or so she could not
keep up with some of the games she still like to participate as a
cheerleader for the other dogs. We'll always love you , Abbie.

Jesse
This sweet and loving girl, wasn't
really a dog (she just looked like one) Jesse was a superstar,
a regular on Whatcom Humane Societies Pet Watch (as her mom is
the host) she would come to day care if she HAD to.... as all
she really wanted to do is be with the staff.... she thought
other dogs could be so dorky, you could actually see her roll
her eyes at them. The one dog who did make the "dog" come out
in her was Toby W, they would wrestle I the pool.. but only if
no one was "watching" We will miss Jesse and her Diva ways,
her brother Lukas too misses her deeply. We love you Jesse.

Beloved Lucy touched all of our hearts with her "woo woo woo"
for so many years. We were lucky to of known her and cared for
her since 1998. Sue Hilton, Lucy's guardian first contacted us
for pet sitting and she has been bringing all of her to pets to
us for years. Lucy was first adopted from the Humane Society in
1990 when she was just a spry lil' pup of 1 year of age. In 2001
Lucy was named spokes dog for the Whatcom Humane Society's Dog
Day of Summer Festival. She was a loving girl, who will always
be missed.
Bianca
tragically lost her life January
2007. She was our resident cat. She was a feisty girl... who
was always looking to get herself into mischief. From knocking down
all the pens off the counter to dropping your gloves into the
toilet... She was bold and quite brass with her wild feline
ways.... no dog was the boss of her! No way. She ruled with a
tough paw and kept us all in line. She was a joy to see every
morning... to find out what trouble she had gotten into the night
before! Her favorite activity was to be the official "distraction"
in puppy class... you could not help but to roll your eyes at her
sassiness. You forever will be in our hearts, we love you Miss
B.
Ben
7/24/2001-4/14/2007
Ben's official title at TAW was
Chairman of Pet Relations. He was officially in charge of
meeting all the new dogs and making sure they were appropriate
for the pack. Ben had been trained as a canine service dog for
many years, offering calming signals to other dogs to put them
at ease. Ben participated in many dog events to help
educate children and adults on dog behavior, such as the Kids
Dogs Show, PetWatch, Radio spots and school assemblies. In
2005, Ben was the spokes dog for the Dog Days of Summer Festival
at the Whatcom Humane Society. He was a model for RC Pets
yearly Catalog and has many local print ads in various
magazines... to us Ben was our beloved first born... he was the
corner of our world... we love you Ben. Our lives are forever
changed because of you.
